Overnight train to Kalka and transfer to the Himalayan Queen toy train or drive straight from Delhi. Arrive in Shimla by noon. Transfer to the palace hotel. Evening explores the famous Mall with its Churches and mock Elizabethan architecture. Overnight Shimla.
The road from Shimla goes east towards the Tibetan border along the Sutlej to Rampur. Visit the Buddhist monastery and the Raja's palace and temple. Arrive at Sarahan and check into the scenically located Srikhand Tourist Bungalow. Evening visits to the 2000-year-old Bhimakali temple. Overnight Sarahan.
Drive up the Sutlej valley into the Baspa valley to Sangla. Check into Wanderlust deluxe Baspa Banks tented camp on the river. Evening relax around a bonfire with a choto peg. Overnight Baspa Banks.
Morning visit Sangla village, and the old Kamru fort occupied by the local rulers for centuries. Day at leisure by the riverside. Overnight Baspa Banks.
Drive through wooded hillsides to picturesque Chitkul (18 km), the last Indian village before Tibet with its small houses, monastery and temples. The valley has saffron farms and is famous for apples. Overnight Baspa Banks.
Day at leisure for nature walks, front fishing, mountain biking or an excursion to Kalpa for views of the Kinner Kailash range. Overnight Kalpa.
Drive into the Apple Country and check into the Apple Orchard Resort. Evening free.
Check into the Royal Palace. Overnight Nalagarh.
Drive to Waterbanks island resort New Delhi. Overnight waterbanks.
Depart Delhi.
